AIMPLAS, Technological Institute of Plastics located in Valencia, is a private, non-profit Association with 35 years of experience in the plastic sector. Our purpose is to add value to companies to generate wealth and create employment, and to add value to society to improve quality of life and ensure environmental sustainability. Our team is made up of more than 260 highly qualified professionals, and we count on more than 12,000 m2 of cutting-edge facilities. We apply our expertise across the entire plastics value chain, from polymer synthesis, raw materials, compounding, manufacturing/processing, end users’ applications and recovery of plastic waste. AIMPLAS has broad expertise in the fields of recycling, compatibilization, reactive extrusion, biopolymers and renewable materials, special assisted processing technologies and nanocomposites, gained during the recent years in EU and national projects.
 

Role in the project
In BIOMAPS, AIMPLAS is involved in vitrimerization of PHAs through reversible crosslinkers, their characterization, coatings and surface modifications, compounding and production of blends (leader of WP4), contributions in the mechanical recycling and in extrusion, injection molding, 3D printing, and leadership of WP8 alongside with development of prototypes.
