OPEL GmbH is a Stellantis, one of the major automotive manufacturers, which holds an extensive portfolio of products. Stellantis is a constellation of 14 iconic automotive brands; in March 2022, Stellantis presented Dare Forward 2030, a holistic plan that paves the way for Stellantis to transition to a sustainable mobility tech company that delivers value for all stakeholders. OPEL GmbH is a mobility provider that ensures that German quality, engineering precision, and connected innovations are accessible to a broad customer base across the globe and improve the competitiveness of STELLANTIS products. Within BIOMAPS, the Materials Technical Expertise (MTE) group in Germany is involved; as part of the Sustainable Raw Materials division, MTE will ensure the proper technical support for the full exploitation of project results.

Role in the project
Within Biomaps, OPEL GmbH will participate in WP4 - Compound manufacturing and mechanical recycling, contributing to specifications and materials validation. Then, it will provide injection molding facilities for supporting WP5 – Component manufacturing. Further, OPEL GmbH will assist Tasks 8.1, 8.2, and 8.3 in WP8 – Applications and demo use cases, contributing to the development and validation of plastic parts, and the assessment of the suitability of the proposed materials for battery cells and application in flexible electronics. Finally, OPEL GmbH will contribute to WP9 and 10, through dissemination, communication, and exploitation activities.
